With the Earth Collective we'll give an example of how the agricultural and food transition can look like. Love, trust and equal cooperation between the earth, the free entrepreneur and the local community are at the basis of the way we will shape the physical plots around the farm. We'll transform a 'regular' farm into a biodiverse edible landscape based on permaculture principles.
We'll examine the needs of the land in order to develop a suitable permaculture design. In many places only grass grows, with few herbs.
Ponds will be created in the lowest places to collect excess water. A structure with raised beds and wadis is created between the ponds. Moisture gets the optimum opportunity to penetrate the soil and be released during drought. The raised beds create space for fruit and nut trees, shrubs, herbs, edible mushrooms and flowers.
In this way, a huge amount of habitat for biodiversity is created: a diverse edible landscape where bees, butterflies, worms, toads, birds and many other animals can fully fulfill their role in nature again.
The Earth Collective needs additional financial support. Will you help to purchase and allow the Earth to develop debt-free? Read more about this on the donation and loans page.
